Our Early Access Tour of the Vatican Museums offers you the fabulous opportunity to tour at your own pace and to visit the Vatican museums before the regular opening time.
You will be accompanied for a 3 hours tour by an expert private guide just for you. Your guide is fully licensed and knows everything there is to know about the Vatican, both its history and the extensive works of art housed inside.
You will meet your private guide bright and early at 7:30am to ensure you are among the first ready and raring to enter the Vatican with special early access at 8am. You will be escorted to the Pincecone courtyard where you will be seated for a delicious morning buffet breakfast.
Once you are all done with breakfast, your guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the rest of the Vatican Museums. Your tour will include all of the Vatican highlights and a few added extras. The Vatican Museums is the fifth largest museum in the world, so there is a lot to see. Visit our favorite galleries including Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps. Predating a unified Italy by nearly 300 years and based on painted topographical maps of Italy, the Gallery of the Maps is one of the coolest places in the Vatican Museum
No Vatican Tour is complete without a visit to the Raphael Rooms which belonged to the papal apartments. He designed and frescoed multiple rooms connected to the Vatican Museums. Among other masterpieces, you’ll see one of Raphael’s most famous works of art, The School of Athens.
Your private guide will then take you to the spectacular Sistine Chapel, where you will be able to admire Michelangelo’s work. Stop and take it all in, as you admire Michelangelo’s greatest masterpiece.
At last, through a special door available only if accompanied by a licensed tour guide, you will reach the largest Catholic church in the world: St. Peter’s Basilica. Once you enter, the greatness of the structure and care of details will overwhelm you.
