There’s no reason you can’t reach the Amalfi Coast while visiting Rome thanks to this one day trip!
Travel in style and comfort on the high-speed rail line in just one hour so that you will have more time to enjoy the delights of the destination. Upon arrival, a private chauffeur will be waiting at your arrival track showing a sign with your name and start the scenic drive along the coastal roads to reach Positano and Amalfi
The first stop will be Positano, considered one of the most beautiful villages in the south of Italy. Here you will be able to take in the magic of this picturesque town with its distinctive colored buildings climbing the mountain. Stroll throught its cute narrow alleyways, chic boutiques, restaurants, and ‘Dolce Vita’ cafés. Despite its glamor, Positano was once a nearly abandoned fishing village until it was ‘rediscovered’ by the elite. Lead down to the beach where you can sit down to have gelato or limoncello, an unforgettable location that will provide one of your fondest memories of Italy.
The tour will continue along this romantic coastline where you can stop to take beautiful photos that will likely make all your friends at home very jealous. We will pass by the towns of Praiano and Conca dei Marini before arriving to Amalfi the former capital of the maritime republic that gave the area its name. Once one of the most important trading powers in the Mediterranean, this port city in miniature is home to a dazzling piazza, pristine medieval cathedral, and streets that will captivate you with their fairytale-like flavor. Climb the staircase to the Cathedral (‘Duomo’) and its arabesque cloister, as well as shop for Amalfi’s handmade ‘bambagina’ paper.
In Amalfi you will have time for lunch in a typical restaurant to enjoy the delicious local food.
After the lunch break we will reach Ravello, sitting on an elevated position of 315 meters above sea level. In the center you will visit the old palaces home of the local aristocracy, villa Ruffolo, Villa Cimbrone and the 11th Century Duomo. But Ravello is also famous for the breathtaking views over the sea and for the many noteworthy personalities that visited and loved the place, like Richard Wagner that in Ravello took inspiration to write the Parsifal.
At the end of the tour, you will come back to Rome by high-speed train.
This tour can be easily done just with an English speaking private driver. If you wish to know more about the places that you will see, we recommend also having a private guide. You can add the private guide service from the EXTRAS menu in the reservation box .
